Mmm… Fresh bread aroma wafted over me. Amoroso roll was soft and full of flavor. Taste a bit like a French baguette. Ribeye steak was tender and full of beef flavor. Wow!

Yelp Elite Event at Handel’s Vista
Nice to see another ice cream joint in Vista. Yelp and Handel’s was holding an Elite Event to celebrate the new shop so I signed up to check it out. Driving up I noticed a cool mural across the street. When I first visited Maggie in Vista we would get cool treats at Pepper Tree Frosty. Great classic ice cream shop.

Yelp Elite Event: Lemonade Hillcrest
My first attempt at making lemonade I grabbed some lemons off a neighbors tree. I squeezed the lemons, added, water, and sugar. The concoction was awful. Either too tart, too watery, or too sweet. This 6 year old decided it was better to leave lemonade to the experts. I was excited Yelp was holding an event at Lemonade. I use to get good lemonade at Hot Dog on a Stick but that place left UTC years ago.

Elite Event: Seasons 52
I could not resist that tantalizing scent in the air. It was a primal scent of fire and lamb. I followed the scent to it’s source. Kona crusted racks of lamb. I sampled a lamb chop. There was a crust of seasoning on the lamb licked by fire. I asked for mine plain so I could enjoy the flavors without distraction. Flavor of juicy lamb and crispy crust was delicious.

Yelp Elite Event: Circa 37
I grew up in old apartments. The first was a studio on E ST the 4 of us squeezed into. Each day before sunrise one of my parents would carry me to the Chinese laundry down the street where my crib was. Stairway was dark and dingy. Paint was peeling on the outside.
