Scent of burning red oak billows out of the smoker on the patio.

Coop’s West Texas BBQ
Scent of mesquite smoke fills the air. I watch smoke pouring out of the smoker. Reminds me of some great bbq joints I visited in North Carolina. Set the smoke free.

I remember Aptos. I stayed in a tree house. There were lovely redwoods all around. Loved the scent of the forest. A bbq joint was in town.

This neighborhood was where I was introduced to hickory smoked bbq. Jim’s Hickory Wood Bbq had delicious ribs and cinnamon ice cream. Jim’s is long gone but now Union Bbq has opened.

Central Coast Meat Market
I have always wanted to visit Pismo Beach but haven’t had the chance till now. My Yelp friend Paul M. suggested I visit Central Coast Meat Market knowing my love of bbq. I visited at the end of October and Pismo beach was nice with the temps in the mid 70’s. There was a good number of parking spots and a quiet laid back beach town vibe.
