Island Style Hawaii
Hawaii has some of the most delicious food I’ve eaten. I was excited to find a new Hawaiian place to eat at and visited several times to try a bunch of dishes. Island Style Mix lunch plate. Mochiko chicken had a delicious crunchy batter while the chicken was juicy and tender. I would order this again without the sesame sauce. Teriyaki beef was tender, juicy, and had a delicious sweet flavor. Pulehu short ribs was tender and juicy but I didn’t like the sea salt flavor. I prefer traditional kalbi flavor. Kalua pork with cabbage has very tender pork with shredded cabbage. I love this dish but it’s very salty…

Happytime Tea
My first time at this mall I might have been 12. There was a movie theater back then. We alternated between the theater here and a few drive ins. It looks a bit more run down now. Where I use to watch movies I see Bargain Outlet. To the side I notice Happytime Tea.

Uncle’s Shaved Ice – Lihue
We almost did it. We came close to eating at a different shaved ice spot everyday for a week. There are so many delicious shaved ice shops to try. This day we shopping at K-Mart and needed a snack. Uncle’s Shave Ice was close so we gave it a try. Looks like the mall is brand new and not all the stores were occupied.

Kauai’s Best Shave Ice
Promises promises. I had to see for myself if this was Kauai’s best shave ice. The location next to Foodland is great as I always need something from Foodland. I loved snow cones when I was a kid. My first was at a big school party in the first grade. There was a choice of classic flavors and you had to eat it fast as the big chunks of ice didn’t absorb the syrup well. There was no line here which was surprising for the best shave ice in Kauai… I chose the lychee flavor since I was in Kauai. Little bits of ice were in-between snow cone sized particles…
