Yelp Turns 15 @ One Paseo

I was excited to attend Yelp’s 15th birthday party.  Looks like lots of other Yelpers were too as the parking lot was full.  Luckily there was free valet parking.  Nice.  I watched so the valet guys ran back from the hidden parking lot far far away.

Waiting in line for our Yelp wristbands Maggie fell in love with a Canine Companion.   There were walking by the line and very friendly.
There were many shops participating in the event and these are a few of my favorites:
The Butchery had chicken sliders.
I loved the smoky flavored chicken.  I was sad they weren’t giving out the amazing looking tomahawk steak on display.
Susie Cakes sampled vanilla celebration cake.
I loved the moist sweet cake which had a nice vanilla flavor and sugar confetti pieces.  The cookies on display were tempting but there were many more shops to visit.
Tender Greens had lemonade, ice tea, and fried chicken sliders.  Lemonade had a sweet and sour lemon flavor which I liked alot.
Fried chicken was tender, moist, and had a delicious buttermilk fried flavor.
Shake Shack had frozen custard.
I loved the cold, dense, yet smooth texture.  Nice mix of flavors from the french vanilla like custard and the sugar sprinkles.
It was fun exploring the various shops at One Paseo.  I liked the open design with various areas for gathering and eating.  Quite refreshing versus the dense packed in feeling I get from walking around UTC.  Thanks Yelp for guiding me to places I didn’t know I wanted to go to over the last 15 years!  Thanks to Yelp CM’s Brad + Danny + One Paseo’s cool shops for the great celebration

  1. I thought they’d have more samples than that? Were the lines long to get the samples.
Was thinking same thing about the Tomhawk steak 🙂 Would have been rad if they raffled that off or something. I like the fried chicken at Tender when it’s fresh outta the fryer.

    1. There were many alcohol samples and cheese, pizza, and other samples. There were things like cheese and crackers in the clothing stores. Due to the long lines we missed some things. I noticed on the Yelp reviews that gift bags with gift cards were given out at Parakeet Cafe but they had run out when we got there. I think you would have had a great time if you had gone. You can go through the line multiple times when you find something you really like.
