The View Hotel/Cabins @ Monument Valley
In early 2000 I was helping my friend Phel Steinmetz setup his new computer. He offered me any print of his in return. I asked for a signed panorama of Monument Valley. It’s been hanging in my room ever since. One day Maggie decided we should visit Monument Valley and see where the photo was taken.

Lake Cuyamaca
Back in the day Phel Steinmetz taught me lake fishing at Lake Cuyamaca. We took a boat out and cast lures. On lucky days we would land some rainbow trout. On unlucky days we would enjoy the sun, the sky, and the beauty around us.

Padadak Korean Chicken
Back in the day I had lunch with Phel Steinmetz at this mall. Now closed Fins Mexican Eatery was his favorite spot. Much has changed. They have built a huge new parking structure as well as a trolley stop.

San Diego Chicken Pie Shop
Green grass around us Mountain trails for us to trek Blue sky above us. Phel Steinmetz introduced me to the Chicken Pie Shop back when this place was located on the corner of 5th Av. in Hillcrest. We were on a field trip to apply the photo techniques we learned in the classroom. This was our last stop on our day long adventure. Chicken pie was the best I’d ever had.
