Solvang Restaurant 2019

Solvang Restaurant has many dishes I love but the chicken noodle soup is my favorite.  I was told on my previous visit that they only serve it on Sunday.

I visited Sunday to order chicken noodle soup but they didn’t have it.  Now it appears at random.  Instead I ordered the catfish grilled in garlic and butter.  Catfish was a bit crispy and full of that distinctive catfish flavor.  I usually get it fried but I loved the flavors of this dish.  Fries were crunchy and had a good potato flavor.

I also ordered a side of Danish sausage which was plump and juicy.  There was a mix of sweet and savory flavors.  Very tasty.

For dessert I ordered a Aebleskiver with 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream and a side of whipped cream.

I dipped the Aebleskiver first in the jam, then in the whipped cream and added ice cream.

Vanilla ice cream was rich creamy and full of vanilla flavor.

Combination of flavors was heavenly.  I loved this make it yourself dessert as I chose how much of each ingredient to use.

It appears chicken noodle soup is now served at random.  One of these days I’ll be in town again when they have it.
