Shake Shack – UTC

I wake up each day to emails showing me the newest and shiniest things I need to buy.  Shake Shack sent me an email about their holiday shakes:

Coconut Snowball: Coconut and marshmallow frozen custard, topped with whipped cream, coconut and sprinkles.

Christmas Cookie (Shack fan favorite!): Sugar cookie frozen custard, topped with whipped cream, crumbled shortbread and holiday sprinkles.

Chocolate Peppermint: Chocolate frozen custard and peppermint fudge sauce, topped with whipped cream and chocolate peppermint bark.

I walked over to Shake Shack to try the new shakes.  Place was busy on Sunday afternoon and not many tables to be found.  I ordered a burger and shake.
Double hamburger had good quality beef.  They don’t hide the flavor of the beef with seasoning.  A bit of char to the meat and some salt and pepper would make this a great burger.  Lettuce and tomato tasted nice and fresh.
Christmas cookie shake reminded me of that Simpson’s episode where Bart found $20 and he went to the Kwik-E-Mart and demanded pure Squishee syrup.  I was hoping for a shake with big pieces of Christmas cookies I would need to eat with a spoon.  Instead I got a normal texture shake with a few sprinkled tiny pieces of cookie on top.  Shake itself was extremely sweet like it was almost pure sugar.  There was Christmas cookie flavoring which I’m guessing was mixed in like Squishee syrup.
2nd visit I tried the coconut snowball shake.  Topped with whipped cream and sprinkles this was more colorful than the regular shakes.  Flavor tasted like the regular vanilla shake with added coconut flavor.  Great tasting shake as long as you are a coconut lover.
I don’t like chocolate so I’m not going to try the third shake.  My favorite shake here is the vanilla one.  It is cold, creamy, sweet, and has a nice vanilla flavor.  It was fun trying the Shake Shack shakes but Hodad’s is my favorite spot to get a shake.
French fries are my favorite item on the menu here.  Crinkle cut shape results in the most surface area for the oil to fry so the fries are extremely crunchy with a nice potato flavor.
Decorated for the holidays.

  1. Nice pictures! I’d try the chocolate shake if it did not have peppermint in it!

    1. I’m pretty sure you can get a chocolate shake.
