South San Francisco Airbnb

Driving north from Aptos, CA we stopped at New Kwong Kok for lunch.  After getting gas at the nearby Costco I noticed a lady selling cherries on the sidewalk.  Wish cherries grew in San Diego.  After that it was a short drive to our South San Francisco Airbnb.

Parking is a real hassle in San Francisco.  Also car break-ins are a common occurrence.  This Airbnb was very attractive as you get your own parking spot behind a fence.  There is a very nice view of South San Francisco.  Inside it’s very modern looking.

Looked like the place was newly remodeled with wood floors, new bathroom, and new kitchen appliances.  Place was fairly quiet with the new dual pane windows and very light traffic outside.  Only thing I didn’t like was the bed which was very soft as my body sunk into it.  I’m use to a firm bed.

Our hosts were nice, very responsive, and answered all my questions fairly quickly.
Mari came by and we visited Muir Woods.  It was lovely as it was raining during our visit.  Afterwards we gave Hard Knox Cafe a try.  Lots of delicious soul food.  For dessert I stopped by Mitchell’s Ice Cream and picked up 6 half gallons of ice cream for the trip home.
Next day we had dim sum at Lai Hong Lounge.  Afterward we visited Wychen Foods and I picked up some Chinese Sausage.  Then we spent the afternoon at the Pacific Pinball Museum.  My Yelp friend Harvey met us there and drove us around Oakland showing us the sights.  We stopped at New Gold Medal Restaurant for dinner.  Fenton’s Creamery was our last stop for dessert.
Our last day with Mari we visited Sang Tung and had delicious chicken wings.  The afternoon we spent walking around the San Francisco Botanical Garden.  As we were hungry after all that walking we stopped by the Clement St. Hard Knox Cafe for oxtail.
On our way out of town we stopped at New Kwong Kok for lunch and I picked up 5 zongzi to take home.
