Who knew the iPhone in my pocket would have more computing power than the huge Power Mac G4 I was struggling to carry from the store to my car back in 2000. Who knew I would be attending a Pop Up Party in Pacific Beach years after I burned out on the Pacific Beach club scene which consisted mostly of booze and really loud music.

The Magical, Magnificent, Miraculous Amaryllis Journey / Chapter One
It started out as a thoughtful gift from Soo a single bulb needing some potting soil, a pot and water. A whole year later, it had a half dozen pretty green leaves, but no stems, or buds or flowers to be seen. Weird, I gave it water, food and sun. What more could an Amaryllis want? Kept moving it around on the patio thinking it just needed that one special spot to finally bloom.

Bliss – supreme happiness; utter joy or contentment: Dictionary.com I lay here and I feel bliss. Half awake. Half asleep. I feel so good. So relaxed. Wish I could just stay here and enjoy the feeling. My therapist Abi expertly found and fixed my knots and relieved the tension in my tight muscles. Fancy oils and lotions left my skin feeling more hydrated than it’s ever been.

Double Happiness
Happiness is a state I am constantly trying to achieve. Double happiness is doubly attractive. We first visited after a hot air balloon adventure. I was starving after an evening of spectacular sights from among the clouds. Double Happiness delivered with classic Chinese dishes and great service. My current visit is after enjoying watching the sun as it was on it’s journey to set into the sea. Rays of light poked through the clouds and light up the ocean beautifully. Double Happiness’s location is excellent being blocks from the ocean.

Only those who attempt the absurd will achieve the impossible. I think it’s in my basement… let me go upstairs and check. M. C. Escher They built this place when I started college. I remember the wonder of wandering this place which was like an Escher painting brought to life. I liked beautiful architecture, the pastel colors, and the fancy signs for each level of the parking garage. It was important to remember the signs as it’s easy to get lost in the parking garage as the fruit garage is separate from the vegetable garage. There was a sense being part of a wonderful piece of art shopping here while…

TJ Tacos
It was back in my college days I had my first TJ taco in Tijuana. An old lady had a cart on the sidewalk. Juicy meat leaked juices onto the little corn tortillas. They were small, cheap and delicious. It’s been a long time since I had a TJ taco so I was excited when my yelper friend Lisa G. suggested we visit TJ Tacos.

Jersey Mikes
The very first Jersey Mikes (called Mikes Sub’s back then) started in Point Pleasant, New Jersey in 1956. Mike became known for recognizing his customers by name and remembering their favorite sandwich order. In 1975 Peter Cancro had worked at Jersey Mikes during his High School years. Upon hearing the business was for sale, he decided to buy Mikes Sub’s at the age of 17. Today he is the owner and CEO of Jersey Mikes and oversees approximately 1,500 franchise locations.
