John’s Restaurant
John’s Restaurant has a 1960’s feel to it like I saw depicted in American Grafitti. I loved the early Palm Springs vibe with Palm trees in front. I found out John’s opened in 1985.

Chicken Charlie’s – Rancho Bernardo
The first time I visited Chicken Charlie’s at the Del Mar Fair I tried a fried Twinkie. It was amazing. Each year I looked forward to seeing what new delicious treat he would fry up. Later he opened a sit down restaurant in Clairemont and I looked forward to his Facebook specials which featured a discount or something not on the regular menu. Sadly that location closed.

Marinade on Main
Beautiful drive here. I enjoyed seeing the country side. Rolling hills and native shrubs were just out the window. We passed a place selling bales of hay. Ramona still retains that small town feel.
