On the drive from where we were staying in Fresno to Kings Canyon National Park I saw a stand selling flowers and honey.

Valentines Day 2023 @ Costco
I visited the day before Valentine’s Day hoping I would get to see the ladies dipping strawberries into fresh chocolate. It was not to be. At the front of the store they just had a flower display. I miss the old days when Costco went all out and had the best Valentine’s Day celebration in town. In addition to the chocolate covered strawberries display there were cakes and cookies and all variety of chocolates in addition to flowers.

San Diego County Fair
The day started at Torrey Pines High School where they had free parking and a free ride to the fair. In the past they had the cool double decker buses as seen in Harry Potter. Turns out the company that supplied the double decker buses went out of business so now it’s school buses with tinted windows.

Valentine’s Day 2022 @ Costco
On February 7 2022 I visited Costco to see what cool Valentine’s Day treats are available. At the front I found a small display of chocolate covered strawberries. Sadly only dark chocolate was available today. Milk chocolate is my favorite flavor.

Ocean Beach Farmers Market
Ocean Beach Farmers Market is only a few blocks from the beach and the weather was lovely at the end of summer. I loved the variety of vendors.

I’ve been frequenting this establishment for years. Last entry was 2016! Since then their greeting committee of birds (cockatiels and parakeets) have multiplied. And they have a very friendly black and white dog.

Hillcrest Farmers Market
In March my favorite strawberry stand will open and I’ll be able to get fresh, ripe, juicy strawberries. To tide me over I visited the Hillcrest Farmers Market to see if they had fresh strawberries. Hillcrest has a really big Farmers Market with a good variety of vendors over 2 large blocks so I thought my chances were good.
