Red Button Ice Cream @ Bee’s Marketplace

When on vacation I love exploring supermarkets and seeing what exotic foods I can try.  Bee’s Marketplace has a cool name and inside it appeared to be your typical supermarket.  What impressed me is the awesome ice cream section.

They have lots of flavors from a Utah based creamery called Red Button Vintage Creamery.  I had never seen this brand of ice cream before.  I bought 5 1.75qt containers to try out.

Canadian Vanilla sounded interesting.  I’m not sure what makes it Canadian but it was rich and creamy with a sweet vanilla flavor.  The texture was like Blue Bell vanilla but the vanilla flavor was unique.  Great tasting vanilla!

Sprinkled Animal Cookie was rich, creamy, and very sweet.  Just like eating animal cookies you don’t want to eat too much at once.  Thrifty’s makes a version of Circus Animal Cookie and it’s a huge sugar bomb.  I prefer the Red Button version as the sweetness is at a lower level and you can taste more than just the sweetness.

Chocolate Orange Stick reminds me of orange chocolate sticks I’ve had at fancy chocolate shops.  Tasty orange ice cream mixed with chocolate was a delicious mix of flavors.

Cherry Chocolate Chip had a richy creamy cherry base and bits of cherry giving bursts of cherry flavor with chocolate bits giving bursts of chocolate flavor.  Thifties made a pretty good cherry chocolate chip but I prefer Red Button’s version as it has a richer flavor with a higher buttercream content.

Root beer float was a rich and creamy vanilla base with ribbons of root beer syrup.  Loved the flavors of the vanilla ice cream and blasts of root beer.  It’s hard finding root beer flavored ice cream and this is one of the best.
I enjoyed trying the various flavors of Red Button Ice Cream with Root Beer Float being the front runner while the Canadian Vanilla was my second favorite.  The flavors with chocolate I’d prefer pint size.  While I like chocolate once in awhile there was too much chocolate hiding the delicious cherry and orange flavored ice cream.  I love just cherry and orange ice cream.
I also tried the Rocky Mountain spring water.  Refreshing and I enjoyed the light mineral flavor.  Wish they had more.  I bought the last 2 gallons.  I’d trade all my access to Arrowhead spring water for more.
The people I met at Bee’s Marketplace were very friendly.  Store was clean and had an excellent selection at good prices.

  1. Sounds like you’ll need to stock up on Red Button ice cream here next trip! Looks super delicious!

    1. Next time I’ll fill up the cooler with root beer float ice cream!

  2. Sounds like Utah’s very own Niederfrank’s – locally owned and operated and only available in certain areas. I think I’d enjoy that cherry ice cream without the chocolate too!

    1. I like chocolate chip ice cream once in awhile but I don’t want chocolate in all my ice cream. I’ll have to find a good time to visit Niederfrank’s. I’ve read their parking is terrible now.
