Tim Ho Wan
The story of Tim Ho Wan begins in 2009 when Chef Mak Kwai-Pui and Chef Leung Fai Keung opened their first restaurant in Mongkok, Hong Kong. Tim Ho Wan earned it’s first Michelin star in 2010. In 2015 3 more branches each earned a Michelin star. Tim Ho Wan was then known as “the world’s cheapest Michelin-star restaurant.” My friend Micheal at work suggested I visit as Tim Ho Wan had just opened a branch at the Palms Hotel I was staying at. You enter through the Palms Casino. Staff was very friendly.

California Classic Cafe
If you ever plan to motor west, Travel my way, take the highway that is best. Get your kicks on route sixty-six. Nat King Cole – Route 66 Sun shines brightly. Sand reflects the sun’s light and heat. After hours of driving through the California desert we wanted to stop at a diner. California Classic Cafe is in a kind of industrial area. Seems kind of out of place as a diner in a small desert town would seem to belong in a more rustic setting.

Upon walking into the store the smell of fresh baked bread hits you. Then the sheer tempting variety of bagels offered presents a conundrum. Gee should I just get one of each? Or a few now? Or maybe just one? Gosh such a difficult decision!

Island Style Cafe
I remember the summer trips to Hawaii. Lovely clear skies and white sand beaches. Hawaiian plate lunches and shaved ice for dessert closed out many wonderful days. San Diego has a good number of spots to get a plate lunch and shaved ice. Island Style Cafe is one of my favorite.

Father’s Day with gelatolove
It’s almost Father’s Day and I was looking for something to treat myself. My kid is in Canada so I don’t expect anything from my first born. I was excited to see gelatolove offered free delivery with the purchase of 4 pints. What could be better than gelato on my doorstep? I picked out 4 pints on their website and a few days later an email notification was sent out stating I would be texted when my gelato would be on my doorstep.
