Official Yelp Event @ The Kebob Shop – Encinitas
I love meat so I was excited to see Yelp was having an event at The Kebab Shop. I have had kabob’s at Daphne’s so I thought I might be eating meat on a stick. As the event started the owner Wally introduced himself and the Kabob Shop. He had a great energetic personality and assured us the food wouldn’t suck. We were offered the choice of chicken, falafel, or lamb döner kebob’s. I chose the lamb.

Subway
For years Subway was my favorite sandwich shop. The fresh baked bread smell wafting in the air, numerous vegetable choices, appealing bread varieties, cheeses and meats. I could always feel good about whatever I ate here because I knew it was healthy.

Alberts Restaurant @ The San Diego Zoo
What I love most about this restaurant is it’s namesake; Albert, a silverback western lowland gorilla that lived at the zoo from August 1949 until his death in October 1978. This restaurant stands where his habitat used to be. He fathered a daughter Alvila and lives on through his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

UCSD Trolley construction
I like seeing how things are made and how they work. When I was a kid I liked watching construction projects and taking stuff apart. Back in the old days most things were held together by screws so the world was mine after I found where our screwdrivers were kept. The key was remembering how to put stuff back together in the exact sequence it was taken apart.

Los Pollos Rotisserie & Cuban Bakery
Just love the double chicken faces for their logo! Such happy expressions. We’ve been here a few times now and my favorite is the chicken bowl with plantains, onions, beans and rice. Does not look very big, but don’t be deceived, a whole lot of food is packed inside!

Elite Event: Seasons 52
I could not resist that tantalizing scent in the air. It was a primal scent of fire and lamb. I followed the scent to it’s source. Kona crusted racks of lamb. I sampled a lamb chop. There was a crust of seasoning on the lamb licked by fire. I asked for mine plain so I could enjoy the flavors without distraction. Flavor of juicy lamb and crispy crust was delicious.

Road Trip! Along CA highways 79, 371 and 74
Over the freeways, through the winery’s, amongst the mountains and pines, along the farm fields, Indian lands, lonely sporatic houses, then descending down down down to the desert floor we go. We do this trip every 6 weeks or so for necessary doctoring and such. I prefer to take the scenic route as it makes the trip much more pleasant.

The South Park Abbey
I was greeted by a strange sight on my Taco Tuesday visit. In addition to the $2 taco signs there were also order at the bar signs at most of the tables.
