Corbin’s Q / BBQ & Brew House 6548 El Cajon Boulevard San Diego CA
This has been a tried and true favorite for years! We first found Corbin’s barbecue at a local farmers market years ago and anxiously awaited his store front opening. We have been patrons ever since.

Corbin’s Q
I miss the drive up the coast to Santa Maria. We usually stayed at the Candlewood Suites as they had a full size freezer I could fill with half gallons of ice cream to bring home. The highlights of the trips were the delicious Santa Maria style bbq. One time I got to try a parking lot bbq. My favorite spots for bbq were The Swiss and The Hitching Post. Luckily I can still get Santa Maria style bbq at Corbin’s Q. You can smell the scent of red oak smoke a block away. I usually show up early enough to see Corbin grilling something in the big grill.

Hillcrest Farmers Market
In March my favorite strawberry stand will open and I’ll be able to get fresh, ripe, juicy strawberries. To tide me over I visited the Hillcrest Farmers Market to see if they had fresh strawberries. Hillcrest has a really big Farmers Market with a good variety of vendors over 2 large blocks so I thought my chances were good.

Corbin’s Q
On the road past Malibu beaches were rolling hills of green. Lovely strawberry fields tempted me to stop at a road side stand to get fresh strawberries. Driving through Santa Maria I stopped in a parking lot to try some genuine Santa Maria bbq. It was delicious.

Corbin’s Q @ La Jolla Open Aire Market
Sun rises in east Red oak smoke billows from grill BBQ rib breakfast awaits. Scent of red oak is in the air. I follow like a lemming to the sea. Smoky aroma guided me through the La Jolla farmer’s market to Corbin’s Q. Faye of Faye’s Fork told me I could get some good bbq from Corbin’s Q.

And you can see them there, On Sunday morning They stand up and sing about what it’s like up there They call it paradise I don’t know why You call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye The Eagles – The Last Resort Thanks for the great tunes Glenn Fry. 1948-2016 La Jolla. Place is like paradise. A mile west of here the land ends and the sea begins. Refreshing sea breeze flows over the area. Farmers Market starts at 9am every Sunday. Not as large as the Little Italy market but then you don’t have to park a mile away. I love this market because you can find parking and it…
