Corbin’s Q

I miss the drive up the coast to Santa Maria.  We usually stayed at the Candlewood Suites as they had a full size freezer I could fill with half gallons of ice cream to bring home.  The highlights of the trips were the delicious Santa Maria style bbq.  One time I got to try a parking lot bbq.  My favorite spots for bbq were The Swiss and The Hitching Post.
Luckily I can still get Santa Maria style bbq at Corbin’s Q.  You can smell the scent of red oak smoke a block away.
I usually show up early enough to see Corbin grilling something in the big grill.

Beef ribs are available Wednesday and Saturday.  Love the big meaty bones full of smoky red oak flavor.  Dry rub adds a delicious salty/savory flavor.
Onion rings had a crunchy batter and full of delicious fried onion flavor.
Tator tots had a crunchy shell and full of potato flavor.  So much better than what I remember from the school cafeteria.

Tri-tip was tender, juicy, with a smoky beef flavor.
Pork ribs were tender, moist, and full of smoky savory flavor.  Sauce adds a nice sweet flavor.

New on the menu are smoked wings.  Wings were juicy and had a mix of smoky and salty/savory flavor from the dry rub.  My new favorite dish here.

Stash of red oak.

I’m glad Corbin stayed open during the apocalypse and I notice you can eat on the patio now.
