Valley Farm Market

Smoker sits in the parking lot.  They smoke their meats with applewood pellets.

Smoked meats are wrapped to go and kept in a warmer near the front of the store.  I tried the baby back ribs and smoked chicken wings.  There is no seating so if you don’t live nearby you can eat in the car or go elsewhere.  We found a nearby park and had a picnic.

Baby back ribs were tender with lots of smoky flavor complimented by the sweet bbq sauce.  Loved the mix of flavors.

Chicken wings had a ton of smoky flavor.  Chicken was tender and juicy.  Great tasting wings.
Great selection of drinks.  I purchased a Rocky Mountain root beer.  Good amount of foam.  Strong wintergreen flavor.  Reminds me of when I was a kid and ate wintergreen Lifesavers.  Pretty good root beer.

I was impressed by the ice cream selection too.
I got a pint of Jenni’s Orange Freeze for $10.99.
Combination of blood orange, OJ, and coconut was at times very tart and sweet.  Interesting.

Wish this market was closer as I would visit often for the delicious bbq.  Cathy of mmm-yoso!!! has visited too.

  1. They do have a huge selection of pre-made food. My chicken salad was delicious. The root beer flavor sounds really different. Great pictures!

    1. Thanks! We will have to go again! 🙂

  2. Definitely a place I need to visit. From Chula Vista it’s a quick trip via the 54/125 to Spring Valley.

    1. Lucky! Eat some bbq for me!

  3. Have driven past here five times in the last month and have been meaning to stop. Thanks for the reminder. I think a lot has changed since the opening of the La Jolla location.

    1. What has changed Cathy? The bbq was great. 🙂
