Greenworld Coffee Farm 71-101 Kamehameha Hwy, Wahiawa, Hawaii 96786

    September 18, 2015 /

This is Wahiawa’s best kept secret. Shhh, so don’t tell anybody, wink-wink. My first sip of coffee was so fresh, strong and flavorful, it put my everyday coffee maker brew to shame! Life is improved significantly with a cup or two of Greenworld coffee! What I love about their store is how open and inviting the layout is. Everyone that works there is obviously so happy and helpful. Upon entering I stood in a short line and ordered a delicious coffee concoction. Then I took my time and wandered around the store that eventually lead me to the beautiful coffee trees. Also you can order online anytime, so if you…

Chinatown Neighborhood in Los Angeles, California

    September 15, 2015 /

I’ve been visiting Chinatown off and on since 2003. It’s always been such a bright, serene place. Memories of the girls playing on the mini ‘merry go round’ and ‘race car’ are so precious. (Don’t think the rides exist anymore.) Throwing coins into the wishing pond is always the challenge to see if you can get your coin into the health, happiness or the ever popular prosperity cup. Browsing through the shops is always such a treat.   The best place to park is the below ground parking (lot’s of shade!) located  on either N. Hill St. or N. Broadway within Chinatown. Yes, there is a fee, but it’s well…

Norton Simon Museum 411 W Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91105

    September 13, 2015 /

It should go without saying that I just love museums. The silent portraits of history hanging on the wall, the sculptures and statues, waiting to be observed and admired. Hoping to inspire and illuminate each and every person strolling by. For me, to truly appreciate each exhibition, I set aside at least half the day for my visit. This gives me time to read the information on the pieces that are of particular interest and or sit in front of a piece for awhile to take it all in. They have a small snack bar outside by the small pond, surrounded by shrubs and trees. Note; if you try to…

    September 11, 2015 /

Upon entering, we were greeted wonderfully by Tiffany and shown inside. Immediately I noticed the warm tones used throughout the restaurant, the beautiful lamps and lighting. While waiting in line to sample the food we chatted with a few friends, Faye, Lynn and Annie.

1898 Stephens, Terry House 1926. Dedicated 1977 Coronado Historical Association

    September 8, 2015 /

One of my favorite places in Coronado can be found by biking through the quiet house lined streets. The houses that have stood the test of time, been renovated to their original glory and the special houses known as historical landmarks. The architecture stands out, quietly waiting to be noticed and appreciated. The Stephens Terry house made my head turn as I was biking by, had to stop and take a look at this historical landmark that’s up for sale. “The mansion, a three-story Coronado landmark at 711 A Ave., was designed by noted architects William Hebbard and Irving Gill in 1898 for A.P. Stephens. It was purchased in 1915…

Broadstone Coronado On The Bay 1515 Second St. Coronado, CA 92118

    September 3, 2015 /

The first word that comes to mind while walking through Broadstone’s grounds, is Community. Watching the residents come together in the numerous social activities is quite comforting and makes me feel right at home.   If your looking for either a stay-cation or a new place to call home this is it! Walking distance towards the west end of the property collides with the walkway slash biking trail along the shore close to the ferry. A whole plethora of shops and restaurants can be found.   The view is spectacular of course from any vantage point. My personal favorites are the following: The outdoor movie theater complete with complementary popcorn…

Shamrock Irish Pub and Eatery 39252 Winchester Rd Murrieta, CA 92563

    August 31, 2015 /

May the road rise to meet you May the wind always be at your back May the sun shine warm upon your face and rains fall soft upon your fields And until we meet again May God hold you in the palm of his hand Irish Blessing This is the vibe I get emanating from this place of music, food and fun. The inside of this restaurant has a stage, bar area and seating. Just love all of the genuine Irish decorations, classy place! No stage entertainment when we came for lunch. But I’d like to come back for the live entertainment, have a feeling it would be awesome. Ordered…

    August 31, 2015 /

And you Light up my life You give me hope To carry on You light up my days And fill my nights With song This place has a bright, happy aura about it, drawing you in. It’s been a long time favorite of my Mother’s and we have nothing but good memories here. Ordered the chicken tacos with beans and rice. Every time I eat out at a Mexican restaurant the true test for me is the beans and rice. If the beans and rice are fresh, soft and spiced just right, then I know I will love everything on my plate. The chicken was very moist and flavorful with…
