2019 Honda HR-V year 5 @ Stars + Stripes Car Wash

One of the things I love about buying a new car is how clean and shiny it is.  I remember how my HR-V sparkled in the sun.  I’ve had my HR-V for 5 years now and while still lovely it doesn’t sparkle as much as it did.  I park it in my garage and wash and wax it myself when necessary so it doesn’t look bad.  Maggie recommended Stars + Stripes Car Wash which did great job on her Civic so I was intrigued.  I opted for their hand wax option for $75.

I made an appointment and arrived promptly.  The car in charge directed me to drive through the car wash.  This part was similar to what I experienced at Soapy Joe’s.

The car was rinsed, washed, and air dried.  Then I drove up to the waxing area.  Here they spent an hour hand waxing and buffing.  The inside was vacuumed.

When they were done I was amazed at how shiny my HR-V was.  Looked brand new.  I was also impressed by how clean it was inside.  There was some dog hair I couldn’t get out but it was gone.  This is the best cleaning and wax job my HR-V has ever had.  I’ll return to Stars + Stripes Car Wash when I want another awesome hand wax job.

As for my year 5 update on my HR-V I have not had any issues.  This is the most reliable car I have ever owned.  It drives as well now as when I first bought it in 2018.  Love the Apple CarPlay navigation which has guided me to tons of places.

This year we drove to Zion and the HR-V performed well in the mountains in light snow.  The AC and the Photosync window tint performed well through a bunch of California heat waves.

The well designed interior was big enough to hold my 70QT Yeti cooler, my girlfriend, my kid, and our luggage for our San Francisco road trip.  So far the HR-V is my favorite car I have ever owned.
