Zab Linda

The new sign says Zab Linda.  Last time I visited this was The Original Sab E Lee.

Inside looks the same and the menu has the same items.

I ordered my favorite dish the duck and won ton noodle soup.  Duck was tender and I enjoyed the 5 spice powder based flavor.  Soup was full of flavor from the seasoning and the generous green onions and watercress.  Noodles had a nice snap to them and I liked the mild flavor.  The won tons were not as good as I remember.

The filling had bits I found chewy and there was some flavor in the filling that I didn’t care for.  Maybe some kind of mushroom.

While not bad my favorite dish is not as good as it was under the previous ownership when this was The Original Sab E Lee.

  1. Is there another dish you would try?

    1. Sure. Fried rice, fried chicken wings, or chow mein.

  2. Yeah sounds l like things have changed. The mmm-yoso review said the same thing about what they ordered, except for the Issan Sausage. I’ll have to visit and see how my fave (Spicy Basil Chicken) has fared!

    1. I’ll have to visit the Carmel Valley Sab E Lee. Not many places with great tasting won ton soup. Good luck!

  3. Yes, wasn’t impressed with our visit Soo. Thanks for the link.

    1. You are welcome! It’s too bad they changed for the worst.
