I generally don’t like the risk of dried out supermarket fried chicken but Stater Bros. has never disappointed me.
Batter was crunchy and the chicken was tender and moist. I could tell the oil was good quality as there is never any aftertaste. Flavor was on the mild side like Popeyes mild.
I always get 8 pieces for $5.99. Check the weekly sale ad and you might see 8 pieces for $4.99.
The breasts are big and I can make a meal of one with the addition of some stir fried vegetables.
Stater Bros chicken is my favorite supermarket option. At KFC or Popeyes you are more likely to get it fresh out of the fryer and their recipes are more flavorful. Stater Bros. is the best bang for your buck I have found.

how were the crowds at this location? I was craving fried chicken the other day and didn’t even think about Staters! Do they have wings only specials as well?
I visited before the lockdown so it was quiet. I have never seen a deal on just wings. You can always ask for wings only.
