Canele Bakery

I visited this spot in the old days when it was Lil Dipper ice cream shop.  Sadly it closed after a few years and I have to travel much farther to get huckleberry ice cream now.  I noticed some construction the last few months and now there is a new bakery in the neighborhood.

I visited Canele Bakery soon after it opened.
Not a huge selection but they did have some of my favorites.
Almond croissant was layered with lots of almond slices and topped with a sweet almond paste.  Outside was crunchy while the inside had soft buttery layers.  Loved the texture and flavors.  Reminds me of Le Parfait Paris version.

Morning bun featured crunchy crust with delicate buttery inside with the addition of cinnamon.  I loved the contrasting textures and butter and cinnamon flavors.

2nd visit.

Croissant had a crunchy outer layer with an amazingly fluffy and delicate texture inside.
Delicious buttery flavor.  One of the best croissants I’ve had.

Chocolate chip cookie was crunchy and had a good balance of cookie flavor and chocolate chip flavor.  Great tasting cookie.

Baker at work.
We are lucky to have a French bakery in the neighborhood.
The treats here are much better than the Starbucks across the street.
Lots of parking Sunday morning.
