La Jolla is a long time favorite spot to take photos. La Jolla Cove is especially lovely at sunset.
I just upgraded to the Iphone 11 and thought I’d try out the camera. I don’t visit downtown La Jolla often as the parking is limited. Luckily a co-worker drove.
Bubba’s wasn’t too crowded for lunch so service was speedy.
Wings were the special of the day for 75 cents each so I tried 3 of them with sweet bbq sauce. Waitress said they were baked and then fried. They were good sized, moist, and the sauce gave it a nice sweet flavor. Good tasting wings which are like wings I’ve had at Wingstop.
I also ordered a half rack of baby back ribs with dry rub. Ribs were smoked with mesquite. I tasted a light smoky flavor. Dry rub looked like it was sprinkled on after smoking and added a light sweet and spicy flavor. Overall the flavors were on the mild side. I would have liked more dry rub and smokiness.
It was a nice lunch but I prefer the bolder flavors at Coop’s West Texas BBQ.
Photos from my Iphone 11 appear sharper, better exposed, with more vivid color than my Iphone 8. For photos with good lighting the Iphone 11 photos look as good as my Fuji XT-2. I am not a big fan of the 2 wide angle lenses that come with the Iphone 11. I’d prefer a normal and telephoto lens. Under low light conditions the Fuji XT-2 is still better. Also I prefer editing the RAW files generated by the Fuji. I’ll use the Iphone 11 camera when I don’t want to carry the Fuji but the Fuji will remain my primary camera.

Congrats on new phone ! I’d be curious about night photos – like of the moon and such. Wonder if the quality will be noteworthy with new cam on phone.
I went to this bbq place many months ago and thought it was just ok. The portions weren’t huge and the prices were kinda high (but then again it IS la jolla right). It was fun to walk off the meal afterwards though.
Thanks! I’ll have to take some photos at night. The moon would look like a tiny marble using the wide angle lens of the iPhone.
It was ok. I liked International Smoke more.
We did go for a walk to the Living Room.
