Santa Cruz Breakwater (Walton) Lighthouse

Santa Cruz Harbor is at the northern end of Monterrey.

Dredging the harbor.

Here we visited Walton Lighthouse.

Santa Cruz

It was dedicated  June 9, 2002.

As we walked along the sidewalk the sea tried to reclaim the breakwater.  Seaspray covered the area.

We timed our run to the lighthouse between waves.  You can’t go inside but we admired the sleek beautiful lighthouse from the outside.

I relaxed to the sound of the sea crashing on the nearby rocks.

Scent of the ocean filled the air.  When I was a small boy I dreamed of living in a house by the sea.  I grew up and found my home 5 miles away from the waters edge.  On occasion I see the chill fog rolling in and bike through the mist as a child playing in the rain.
