Gourmet Pie and Cafe

I love pie and was looking forward to trying Gourmet Pie.  Place was big and reminded me of Marie Callender’s.

There is a display case at the front with cake, pie, and cookies to tempt me.

Chicken pot pie was a large dinner size pie.  The pie is top crust only.  Crust was flaky and full of flavors I couldn’t identify.  Pretty good but I prefer Marie Calendar’s crust.  Lots of pieces of white meat chicken with a delicious creamy sauce.  Overall this was a very good pie.

Apple pie had a fresh crunchy crust with a light buttery flavor.  Apple filling had a sweet apple flavor.  I loved this pie.  I was tempted to buy an entire pie.
Snickerdoodle cookie had a nice crunch like a delicious sugar cookie with a touch of cinnamon flavor.  Reminds me of the Corner Bakery’s version.
Pineapple upside down cake had a nice sweet flavor with some intense pineapple flavor from the pineapple slices.  Very good tasting cake.
Staff was nice and the food was very good.  I especially liked the apple pie.

This was our first stop on our road trip to San Francisco.  We spent the night at Maggie’s dad’s house in Rolling Hills Estates.
He has a great view from his backyard.  Amazing how many birds visit.
