My elementary school years I experimented with many different root beers. My favorite was Hires Root Beer. In my college years Hires disappeared from California. I could get it for a few more years in Yuma then it disappeared from Arizona as well.
I was surprised to see it on the menu at Bahama Bucks.
I ordered my favorite childhood drink.
It was sweet and had that unique root beer flavor I love. Great drink.
Another visit I tried a root beer and lychee shaved ice.
I notice they have a classic Hawaiian shave ice machine which uses a big ice block to create the fluffiest ice I’ve eaten. Lychee flavor was a bit sour and didn’t taste like lychee. I wouldn’t get that flavor again. Root beer was sweet and had delicious root beer flavor. I’d get it again.
The ice here is of the finest quality. The syrup is a bit hit or miss. Wish they had taster flights so I could sample the various syrups.
Next time I visit Arizona I’ll have to return to Bahama Bucks and get another Hires Root Beer.

The ring toss game was fun. Next visit think I’ll try the mango Island smoothie. The kokomoco was really good just too strong.
The orange cruiser is pretty tempting…
