I learned the science of measurement in chemistry class. In art class I learned art is subjective. Hipcooks seems to be a mixture of science and art. After being greeted we gathered around the big table in the middle of the room.

The Grill at Torrey Pines
Lush green grass drops off into the blue sea. Iconic torrey pines dot the landscape. In front of me is the golf course Tiger Woods use to play at yearly. Ocean is on the other side of the golf course. The Grill is next to the Lodge at Torrey Pines. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Outside there is a glass partition to keep the chill ocean air from blowing onto the food. I order the Drugstore Burger. At $17 it’s not your standard fast food burger. Cooked medium there was some pink in the middle but it wasn’t dripping juices everywhere like a Hodad’s burger. I liked the…

The San Diego Wild Animal Park AKA ‘Safari Park’
The Butterfly exhibit Note: This exhibit runs yearly for a limited time. This year it’s from March 11th to April 23rd 2017. It will always be ‘The San Diego Wild Animal Park’ to me. After all it was part of the singing introduction of Three’s Company television show for years. Janet, (Joyce DeWitt) Chrissy (Suzanne Somers) and Jack (John Ritter) stood by the entrance sign posing and smiling for all to see. Gotta love that!

Sprinkles Cupcakes
Creamy and sweet. I liked to lick The top before I carefully removed the cupcake liner and indulged myself in delicious cake. My mom use to bake me cupcakes. Using Betty Crocker cake mix and frosting the cake part was ok but the frosting was too sweet and sometimes tasted funny. After trying various frostings from Safeway I preferred the cupcakes without frosting. Sprinkles was the first gourmet cupcake shop to open in the area and I visit on my birthday every year for my free cupcake. 🙂

Cafe 21 – Normal Heights
I like this old neighborhood and the mom and pop shops here. Cafe 21 fits in well with it’s cool decor and friendly staff. There is a small eating area inside like this place may have been a taco shop a life time ago. There is a larger eating area outside is what was the parking lot in front of the cafe.
