Del Mar Rendezvous

So many years I’ve eaten here.  So many delicious dishes.  These are the most recent.

BBQ Pork ribs were tender with a flavor a bit like char sui.  I liked the hint of sweetness with 5 spice powder flavor.

Bbq pork chow mein.  I like the assortment of veggies, sauce, and egg noodles.  Char sui has delicious flavor like I remember from Chinese deli’s in LA’s Chinatown.  This is my fav dish here.
Hong Kong style won ton noodle soup comes with 8 small pork & shrimp won tons.  I prefer bigger won tons with a higher shrimp to pork ratio but the broth is among the best in town with many rich flavors.  Char sui was pretty good but the soup soaked up some of the bbq flavor.  Egg noodles had good flavor and the baby bok choy had a fresh delicious flavor.
Sangri la steak had some delicious flavors from the teriyaki and sea salt.  Broccoli was steamed and seasoned with teriyaki sauce.  Pretty good.
5 spice powder braised beef was melt in your mouth tender and full of delicious flavors.  Baby bok choy had nice fresh flavor.  One of my fav braised beef dishes in town.
Complimentary soda water.
Mud pie had a delicious mix of vanilla and mocha ice cream.  Addition of whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and caramel sauce made for a decadent dessert.
Mango sorbet has a icy rich mango flavor.  Love the mango aroma from the half mango cup.
Rendevous is one of my fav date night spots.  They validate parking and the ocean is 2 blocks away.
Outdoor seating with slight ocean view.

After a great meal you can watch the sun disappear into the ocean.  At Seagrove Park there are benches to relax on as day becomes night and chill ocean air drifts ashore.

  1. Lovely sunset picture. Think their round booth is my favorite seating area. The food is always perfect for each and every visit. Great pictures and descriptions!

  2. Thanks! Glad you enjoyed date night there!

  3. That was a nice hearty meal Soo! I used to dine here more often when they worked with Open Table. The ribs looked kinda dry. I like the lettuce cup chicken here. That is a beautiful sunset photo. Agree that this area is a great date spot –

  4. Thanks! Do you only dine at Open Table restaurants? The bbq pork chow mein is my fav dish there.
