Pure Burger 2641 Gateway Rd, Carlsbad, CA 92009
First portion written by Maggie While quietly anticipating my dinner at Pure Burger, in comparison, I recognized just how few ‘other’ restaurants cater to people with food, dietary restrictions or the menu challenged sounds a bit better to me. I’m one of those people and it’s hard going out and winding your way around each menu and narrowing down the items you may eat. So when I find a restaurant like Pure Burger, I get really excited about the fact that if I want to, I may eat literally anything on their menu! Quite a breath of fresh air for me!

Thomas Square 925 S Beretania St, Honolulu, HI 96814
Pulling up to the curb alongside Thomas Square I knew we arrived in an historic part of town. After taking up most the afternoon at the Museum across the street, I just had to take a walk through this park. Somewhere along the way the importance of this landmark has faded through memories and time. The park sign has graffiti on it, the grass has seen better days and the restrooms are dark, unclean and scary for a girl to go in by herself. Still I persisted in my stroll throughout the park and I’m glad I did. The centerpiece is the beautiful, lovely fountain, perfectly surrounded by celestial Banyan…

Candy Pro’s (Yelp Event) 2626 Southport Way, National City, CA 91950
Going into the Candy Pro warehouse it seems like everyone instantly gets transformed into that excited little girl or little boy from childhood, remembering the first time you went into a candy store. Such a mixture of hope, wonder, imagination and feeling invincible. The dancing Jelly Belly persona really did a wonderful job of dancing around, greeting everyone with high fives, posing for pictures and jamming to the music! My inner Jelly Belly danced right alongside, well in my head anyway! My favorite part of the event is getting to know the Candy Pro family just a little bit more from the informative speech. Warms my heart to see the…

Greenworld Coffee Farm 71-101 Kamehameha Hwy, Wahiawa, Hawaii 96786
This is Wahiawa’s best kept secret. Shhh, so don’t tell anybody, wink-wink. My first sip of coffee was so fresh, strong and flavorful, it put my everyday coffee maker brew to shame! Life is improved significantly with a cup or two of Greenworld coffee! What I love about their store is how open and inviting the layout is. Everyone that works there is obviously so happy and helpful. Upon entering I stood in a short line and ordered a delicious coffee concoction. Then I took my time and wandered around the store that eventually lead me to the beautiful coffee trees. Also you can order online anytime, so if you…

Chinatown Neighborhood in Los Angeles, California
I’ve been visiting Chinatown off and on since 2003. It’s always been such a bright, serene place. Memories of the girls playing on the mini ‘merry go round’ and ‘race car’ are so precious. (Don’t think the rides exist anymore.) Throwing coins into the wishing pond is always the challenge to see if you can get your coin into the health, happiness or the ever popular prosperity cup. Browsing through the shops is always such a treat. The best place to park is the below ground parking (lot’s of shade!) located on either N. Hill St. or N. Broadway within Chinatown. Yes, there is a fee, but it’s well…

Norton Simon Museum 411 W Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91105
It should go without saying that I just love museums. The silent portraits of history hanging on the wall, the sculptures and statues, waiting to be observed and admired. Hoping to inspire and illuminate each and every person strolling by. For me, to truly appreciate each exhibition, I set aside at least half the day for my visit. This gives me time to read the information on the pieces that are of particular interest and or sit in front of a piece for awhile to take it all in. They have a small snack bar outside by the small pond, surrounded by shrubs and trees. Note; if you try to…

Mazen @ 106 Mediterranean Fusion and Grill Restaurant. 300 Carlsbad Village Dr #106 Carlsbad CA 92008
Upon entering, we were greeted wonderfully by Tiffany and shown inside. Immediately I noticed the warm tones used throughout the restaurant, the beautiful lamps and lighting. While waiting in line to sample the food we chatted with a few friends, Faye, Lynn and Annie.
