Islands – La Jolla
This place reminds of the islands. Inside the decor has an islands look. Burgers have flavors like burgers I’ve had in Hawaii.

Angelo’s Burgers – South Oceanside
Painting from nature is not copying the object; it is realizing one’s sensations. Paul Cezanne

The South Park Abbey
I was greeted by a strange sight on my Taco Tuesday visit. In addition to the $2 taco signs there were also order at the bar signs at most of the tables.

The Balboa Bar & Grill
It’s dark inside. Reminds me of the old bars I peeked into when I was a kid. They were forbidden and smelled of booze. This place smells of burgers. Wish I knew how to make burgers that smelled this good.

Burger Lounge – Del Mar
I ate at a bunch of fast food places that looked a bit like Burger Lounge when I was a kid. There have been improvements though. Instead of hard plastic they have cushioned bottoms and cushioned back support at each booth. Instead of those bland hockey pucks they have grass fed beef patties. They also have limited time only exotic meat burgers.

Nicky Rottens Bar & Burger Joint
When I first looked up after being seated by the friendly hostess, a huge banner greeted me filled with a picture of a local Navy Seal. My first thought was, how wonderful for this restaurant to honor our fellow servicemen! Upon reading the cocktail menu they had an interesting option. If you ordered this specific drink; Cavner Mule (Jameson, fresh lime juice, Angostura Bitters, topped with Ginger Beer) then $1 of every drink will go toward supporting the Navy Seal Foundation. Or if you’d rather, go online at: https://www.navysealfoundation.org/donate/ https://coronadotimes.com/news/2015/06/24/chief-petty-officer-bradley-s-cavner-navy-seal/

The Grill at Torrey Pines
Lush green grass drops off into the blue sea. Iconic torrey pines dot the landscape. In front of me is the golf course Tiger Woods use to play at yearly. Ocean is on the other side of the golf course. The Grill is next to the Lodge at Torrey Pines. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Outside there is a glass partition to keep the chill ocean air from blowing onto the food. I order the Drugstore Burger. At $17 it’s not your standard fast food burger. Cooked medium there was some pink in the middle but it wasn’t dripping juices everywhere like a Hodad’s burger. I liked the…

Hard Rock Cafe – San Diego
Each Hard Rock Cafe is like a rock and roll museum. I like to visit when it’s not busy so I can see the memorabilia on the walls. There is a Chris Cornell guitar and a motorcycle in this one. Lovely stained glass windows line part of the roof. I joined the birthday club and they entice me here with deals a few times a year. They advertised they smoke their meats in hickory wood since my last review so I tried the bbq again.
