In high school my best friend got his first car and we would cruise along the coast checking out the scenery. Along Grand Av. in Pacific Beach the only shop I remember from those days is Mr. Frosty. Buddy’s Diner is the most recent shop I noticed closing.
Steak and Fries opened in 2017. The owners are from North Philadelphia and they brought some treats with them.
Frank’s soda is Philadelphia’s favorite.
Frank’s root beer was bubbly with good sweetness with a bite to it. Reminds me of Barq’s root beer.
There is also a good selection of Tastycake.

I ordered the steak sandwich. Ribeye was tender and full of delicious flavor.
Amoroso Bread was soft and had a mild flavor. Very good sandwich. If I could add some bacon it would have been awesome.
2nd visit I tried the steak and fries. Fries were crunchy with a salty potato flavor. Ribeye steak was tender and had a delicious beefy flavor.
Day’s Black Cherry flavor had a sweet and delicious black cherry flavor. A little bit like Thrifty’s Black Cherry ice cream.
Steak and Fries is a relaxing spot to enjoy lunch.
I watched the clouds slowly moving past the trees and the occasional person walking by. Wish I didn’t have to go back to work.
