I remember my first visit to Lappert’s in Lahaina. It was hot and we tried to cool off sheltering under the shade of the old banyon tree. It helped. I noticed there was a Lappert’s Ice cream shop nearby. The cold ice cream brough a smile to everyone’s face.
There was a Lappert’s in San Diego for awhile but it’s closed now. I was happy to see one in Palm Springs.
I ordered a Dole Whip and some pints to go. Dole Whip was icy and full of sweet pineapple flavor. Delicious.
Strawberry was rich and creamy with tons of strawberry flavor with little strawberry bits adding bursts of strawberry flavor.
Kauai pie was bursting with coffee flavor. There were Hawaiian macadamia nuts and coconut in there but I couldn’t taste them over the coffee flavor.
Passionfruit was icy and had tons of tangy passionfruit flavor. I’m thinking it would be awesome to mix some vanilla with it and make a 50-50 bar type treat.
Staff was nice and got my order out quick. I loved the Dole Whip and ice cream. Reminds me of Hawaii.
