Hong Kong Lounge

When I visit San Francisco I try to visit Hong Kong Lounge or sister restaurant Lai Hong Lounge.  This trip I opted for Hong Kong Lounge.  I was happy to find free street parking a few blocks away.  I try my favorite dishes.

Har gow had a mild flavored rice based wrapper and delicious shrimp filling.  Loved the mix of flavors and textures.

Siu mei had a thin won ton wrapper and a mix of shrimp and pork.  Loved the flavors and textures.

Baked cha siu boa had a unique sweet pastry outside a bit like a concha.

Inside was filled with sweet and savory bbq pork.  My favorite dish here.

Service was good.  Food was just as good as Lai Hong Lounge and there is parking nearby.

  1. They do have a huge menu! The pork buns were wonderful.

    1. Yup. Next time we will have to go to Lai Hong Lounge.

  2. Hong Kong Lounge is a family favorite, but I haven’t been there since before COVID. I didn’t see it on the menu pictures, but I remember eating a delicious salted egg yolk custard steamed bun.

    1. Sandy,

You should go again. Sometimes they have things that are not on the menu.

  3. I’ll add this place to my list. Looks like a great menu!

    1. They make some delicious food at Hong Kong Lounge. 🙂
