When I was a kid during the hot days of summer I would long for an ice cold bottle of Hires Root Beer. The icy bottle would chill my hands as that cold refreshing liquid flowed past my lips. That sweet root beer flavor would bring a smile to my face.
It’s almost summer and crowds of tourists will be filling the beaches soon. I visit Pacific Beach for the ice cream. Owner Dave Wright keeps rotating the flavors so I never know what will be available. Root Beer is my favorite ice cream flavor and sadly it wasn’t in the current rotation. I was able to custom order it as long as I would buy 10 pints.
Root Beer ice cream had a rich and creamy base. Bold root beer flavor made this treat taste just like a root beer float. Delicious flavor no ice cream shop in town regularly stocks. 🙁
Chocolate covered bananas ice cream was full of banana flavor mixed with slivers of chocolate. Flavors were just like eating a chocolate covered frozen banana. I loved the frozen banana flavor but chewing through a frozen banana was not fun. This is a much more civilized treat.
Pacific Beach Ice Cream makes some delicious ice cream and owner Dave provides excellent customer service. A scoop of Dave’s Root Beer ice cream brings a smile to my face.
