Olsen’s Danish Village Bakery

Scent of fresh baked treats spills out onto the sidewalk.  Scent beckons me to enter Olsen’s Danish Village Bakery.

So many choices…
One constant of Danish bakeries is the plastic buckets full of Danish butter cookies.
I picked a cinnamon raisins snail to go with my bucket of butter cookies.

Cinnamon Snail had a crispy exterior with a soft interior.  Sweet pastry with nice cinnamon flavor.  Loved the sweet raisins.

Butter cookies come in a plastic bucket which could come in handy at the beach for building sand castles.
The top layer:  Marble cookie had chocolate swirls and was crunchy with lots of sweet butter flavor.
Almond butter cookie had sugar sprinkles and almond pieces giving this cookie an extra burst of sugar and almond flavors.
2nd layer was all chocolate chip cookies.  Delicious mix of chocolate chips and butter cookie flavor.
3rd layer was a mix of coconut cookies which had a strong coconut flavor and a lighter butter cookie flavor.  Oatmeal cookies were very crunchy with delicious oatmeal flavor.  Cinnamon cookies were sweet with light cinnamon flavor.
4th layer was a mix of almond cookies and marble cookies
All the Danish bakeries I tried had fresh tasty butter cookies but Olsen’s is my favorite.  I prefer the flavor and varieties at Olsen’s.  I can’t wait till my next visit when I can get more of those crunchy, buttery cookies.

  1. Wonderful pictures of all the delicious pastries! It’s making me hungry!

    1. Let’s pack and go again!

  2. I’m pretty sure I’d go after half a tray of the eclairs in one of the case photos. Things with cream are always at the top of my list!

    1. Wise choice. I had a Danish waffle with a delicious sweet cream filling at Solvang Bakery.
