Sunrise Deli is in an interesting spot amongst a bunch of industrial buildings.

Lady at the counter is very nice and gets orders out quickly.

I visited on a Thursday and the special of the day was a hickory bbq rib sandwich.

French bread was fresh and I liked the mild french bread flavor. Bbq sauce was sweet with a nice smoky flavor. Lettuce and tomato were crisp and fresh. Beef was tender. Good sandwich.

2nd visit I tried the Miramar Special which featured grilled roast beef and bacon. French roll was fresh and had a nice mild flavor. Grilled roast beef was tender and full of flavor. Bacon was crunchy and full of savory flavor. This is my favorite sandwich so far.

3rd visit I came by on Friday and they had a country fried steak sandwich special with fries. I gave it a try. Steak had a crunchy batter and nicely seasoned with salt and pepper. Steak came in the form of a burger patty and was tender. Bread was fresh with a mild slightly sweet flavor. Pretty good sandwich.

Fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Loved the potato flavor.

4th visit I visited on Wednesday and noticed the burger and chicken katsu special.

I opted for the fish and chips. Fries were crispy and I loved the potato flavor. Fish had a crunchy batter and tasted like frozen fish sticks you can get at the supermarket. Texture was a bit hard due to the freezing process. Flavor was a mix of mild fish and fried batter flavors.

Sunrise Deli has a huge drink selection, great tasting sandwiches, and very good fries. It appears they have a different special everyday. Glad I saw this place on mmm-yoso!!! and gave them a try.

Looks like a great selection in a very unlikely location. So many places in San Diego opening up in what’s basically an office park since rent in more ‘desirable’ areas is usually the kiss of death. Glad word is spreading so these local mom and pop places can get more business.

They were doing great business at lunch. Line was out the door. There was business no matter what time of day I visited. Give them a try if you are up here.
