Steamy Piggy

Now seems to be a good time to try places on Convoy St as there is parking available at lunch time.

I visited Steamy Piggy to try the pineapple and shrimp fried rice.  I was excited to try this dish as the ingredients included shrimp, pineapple, and bacon.

Shrimp were small but I loved the flavor.  Sadly there were few shrimp.  Bacon had a nice smoky and salty flavor but there was hardly any.  Pineapple had a sweet flavor and there was a good amount.  I didn’t see any mention of curry regarding this menu item but it would be accurate to include it as there was quite a bit and the dark yellow color of the rice is a big indication versus traditional fried rice which is usually white.  I’m not a fan of curry so I wouldn’t get this again.

The server was nice and efficient.  I like the decor.  I didn’t like how the menu doesn’t fully describe the pineapple and shrimp fried rice.  I am not inclined to return as I don’t trust that the menu accurately describes the dishes here.

  1. Cute name! That’s unfortunate about the ingredients not being accurately described.

    1. You would have loved the fried rice as it had lots of ingredients you love.

  4. Sorry to hear about the poor experience. I’ve been afraid to try this place because of the name lol.

  5. I’m very picky so I rely on the menu being accurate so I can have them hold ingredients I don’t want to eat.
