After a walk around Lindo Lake I was ready for dessert. I noticed a Dairy Queen. It looked much like the Dairy Queen I visited when I was a kid when my mom walked me home from kindergarten.
They were out of Frosted Animal Cookie Blizzard and grape Misty Freeze.
They did have cherry Misty Freeze so I gave it a try, Ice chunks were bigger and crunchier than I expected in a drink. I thought the ice would be more fine like in a Slurpie. Flavor of the drink tasted like pure cherry syrup. Misty Freeze was made partially with soft serve but I couldn’t taste it as the cherry syrup drowned out any other flavor. Too sweet for me to drink. I gave Maggie a sample but she wouldn’t drink it as the sweetness made her mouth hurt.
This could have been a good treat with finer ice and maybe 10% the amount of cherry syrup used. Reminds me of that Simpson’s episode where Bart found a $20 and he ordered a Squishee of pure syrup. Next time I’ll try something safe like a soft serve.

They would save money by using less syrup.
