McDonald’s – University City

My kid jumped up and down throwing balls everywhere.  Colored balls filled the air. After she settled down if there weren’t other kids to play with we would play catch.  We started coming here around 2000.  She loved getting double cheeseburgers and a kids cone before playing in the ball pit.  There was one very nice employee that usually took our order and upgraded her to a regular size cone.

Now the ball pit is gone.
In its place are some benches and tables.  Place has been heavily remodeled and very modern looking.
Fries were crispy with delicious potato flavor.  One of my favorite fast food fries.
Chicken nuggets had a fried chicken flavor.  These nuggets are ok but I much rather eat bone in fried chicken.  KFC, Popeyes or many other spots that serve bone in fried chicken are tastier than these nuggets.
Ice cream cone had a fresh crunchy cone and soft creamy soft serve.  Loved the sweet vanilla flavor.
Food was just like the old days.  Place seems more mechanized with the automated ordering kiosks.  There is a double drive thru.  This McDonalds is designed to get you out quickly instead of being a place to hang out.  I guess it’s just as well.  An employee gave me the stink eye and interrogated me about why I was taking photos while I was waiting for my order.
I miss the old days.  We looked forward to seeing the nice lady that hooked my kid up with a big ice cream cone.  I played catch with my kid and they had story time at Bookstar.  Thanks for the good times McDonald’s.

  1. The girls grew up fast for sure. McDonalds has changed. I tried their coffee drinks a few times but they were not very good.

    1. Doh! We should go to Starbucks for a good drink.
