I’ve been writing about my Bear’s monthly box of treats and toys each month. This will be for his August box.

Yummy duck treats

When the box arrives each month Bear just seems to know it’s for him. Perhaps it’s the scent or the writing on the box? Either way he get’s super excited, it’s so cute!

Upon opening the box Bear must sniff each toy of course and immediately choose one he’d like to chew on. The peanut butter flavored Mighty Bone nylon chew toy was the one he wanted right away. This one has kept him enraptured for hours on end. I noticed at first I’d have to take it away at shorter intervals, 10 minutes then 30 minutes eventually an hour before sanding away the rough spots was necessary. I use my metal ‘foot’ file for the sanding as it’s most effective.

The next favorite toy was the nylon barbecue scented Mako Ruckus toy. This one has kept him busy for many happy hours. My ‘foot’ file is very handy for sanding this one as well. Note it is my personal file and did not come with the bark box. This one has about the same lasting time frame as the above mentioned.

The rubber Hammer Fed Shark toy has wonderful little bumps on the outside to scrub his teeth while chewing. I’ve added peanut butter or his edible dental paste on the outside to get his attention. On the inside treats fit nicely. Of course all of the treats disappear rapidly! This one has not been chewed on as much since he’s so focused on the other toys.

I love that each toy comes with instructions, suggestions and helpful advice! I’ve learned it helps to give feedback on each and every toy and treat so the nice people at Bark Box can figure out which toys and or treats work best for your dog. I’m very happy with this month’s box and look forward to the next one!
