I have a fondness for Cuban bakeries since I was introduced to Porto’s. Azucar is much smaller and during the apocalypse they have less options available.

I was sad to see they didn’t have potato balls during my last visit.

Vanilla raspberry cupcake was moist and had delicious vanilla & raspberry flavor. Passion fruit vanilla frosting was the perfect compliment and not too sweet.

Beef meat pie had a flaky buttery pastry outside with beef inside. Loved the pastry part. Didn’t like the flavor of the beef/picadillo recipe.

Mojito cookie was soft with a bit of sweetness from the sugar crystals and a mix of lime and mint flavor. One of my favorite lime cookies of all time.

Birthday cake is a decadent treat with lots going on. Tons of frosting which seemed like a dense whipped cream. Good amount of sweetness but not too much. Lots of confetti pieces which add another layer of sweetness. Cake was fluffy, moist, and had a nice mild sweet flavor. Great tasting treat to treat yourself with whether or not it’s your birthday.
