California Fish Grill

I was sad watching them rip out the guts of Fuddruckers.  The kobe beef burger was great.

Now there is California Fish Grill and to the left a place called Max’s Restaurant.

California Fish Grill is sleek and modern inside.

Order at the counter and a pager lets you know when the food is ready.  This place is very efficient and my fish and chips were ready in the time it took to fry.

Fried catfish was battered in a light slightly salty batter which nicely accented the delicious catfish flavor.  Usually I get fried catfish in a cornmeal batter so this is a nice change.  Fries were the standard fast food fry.  Crunchy with a nice potato flavor.

2nd visit I ordered the trout with seasoned olive oil, grilled zucchini, and sweet potato fries.  Grilled zucchini had a nice char with delicious fresh zucchini flavor.  Sweet potato fries were nice and crispy with mild sweet potato flavor.  Trout had a nice char with delicious crispy skin.  Trout had fresh flavor and I loved the preparation with the seasoned olive oil.  Serving size was perfect lunch size as you get an entire trout.

Root beer was sweet with that unique root beer flavor.  It’s among the best you will find in a soda fountain.  Not as much of a bite as Barq’s Root Beer.

3rd visit I tried the fish and chips featuring fried cod.  3 huge pieces of cod really filled me up.  Batter was crunchy and the fried flavor contrasted the mild cod flavor.  French fries were crunchy with a nice potato flavor.

Chips turned out to be tortilla chips which were crunchy.  Very light flavor could have benefited from more seasoning.

While I miss the burgers at Fuddruckers California Fish Grill is my new favorite seafood spot in the area.
