OB Noodle House – Cable St.

I remember my brother use to drive me and my mom to Ocean Beach when he got his first car.  There is laid back vibe here.  I enjoyed fishing off the pier and exploring the tide pools.  You never know what you will see in the tide pools or the beach.  OB Noodle House is now one of the things I look forward to when I visit Ocean Beach.

Crispy noodles with pork and Chinese sausage was covered in a delicious brown sauce.  Many Chinese restaurants I go to overdo it with the garlic in their sauce but OB Noodle House instead gives their sauce more sweetness.  Egg noodles had a mild egg flavor which tasted great with the sauce.  Pork was tender and nicely marinated.  Chinese sausage had a hint of sweetness and spice.  They make it in house and it’s my fav in San Diego.  All these flavors blended together well making this one of my fav crispy noodle dishes in town.

Crispy noodles with pork.  Same delicious flavors as the crispy noodles with pork and Chinese sausage except no Chinese sausage.  I prefer the noodles with the Chinese sausage.

Beef short ribs were tender, juicy with a delicious char from the grill and a mix of sweet and savory flavors from the marinade.  Best I’ve found in town.

House Special Fried Rice featured tender, juicy beef and shrimp.  Chinese sausage was also included which had the expected 5 spice powder flavor plus a little spicy kick.  Rice had a bit of smoky flavor from being fried in a high temp wok.  I loved the delicious mix of flavors in this dish.

OB Noodle House has many of my favorite dishes with bold and vivid flavors.

Guy likes it here too.

Afterwards I like to see the sea which is only blocks away.

  1. They have a nice selection of beer on tap. Plus I noticed people can take their dogs on the outside patio area.

    1. You can bring your dog next time!

  2. Ohhhh the stir fry in first pic looks good with the sauce/gravy. I haven’t been here in ages. The photo of the pier looks serene and peaceful.

    1. I visit every few months. It’s one of my fav lunch spots. I enjoy relaxing by the ocean afterwards.
