Aptos St. BBQ

I had a good feeling about Aptos St BBQ as I drove up I noticed 2 smokers by the side of the building and a big pile of white oak.

Inside I ordered a rack of pork ribs, half pound of brisket, and a half pound of pulled pork.
Ribs were tender with a mix of smoky flavor and sweetness from the dry rub.  These were among the best ribs I’ve had.
Brisket was falling apart tender and juicy.  Delicious peppery based bark.
Pulled pork was very tender with a mix of smoke and peppery dry rub flavor.
Employees were nice and my order came out quickly.  I showed up at 5pm and it was starting to get busy.
It appears they have live music at 7pm.
2nd Visit.  This time I had a half pound of tri tip.  Tri tip was very tender and I loved how the flavor of the dry rub and the smoke blended with the beef flavor of the tri tip.  My second favorite meat here.
Berry cobbler was served with ice cream.  Delicious vanilla ice cream tasted kinda like Thrifty’s.  Pastry top had a sweet fresh baked flavor.  I’m pretty sure it’s baked to order as the berry filling was hot.  Flavor was very sweet and very fruity.  I know there were lots of blueberries and a few blackberries.  I’m not sure what other fruits were in the filling but this was a delicious dessert!
Beer selection

Aptos St. BBQ is now one of my fav bbq spots.  While I enjoyed all the meats I tried the pork ribs were a sublime mix of sweet, smoky, and savory flavors.  Next time I plan a road trip to San Francisco I’m gonna stay in Aptos again.
