The London Bakery

English tea
Scent of apples and cinnamon draws me close.  Fresh baked apple crumb pie leaks scents everywhere.  Lovely sugary lumps form an uneven top crust.  So unlike little sugar balls you find on dutch apple pies.  These are huge in comparison.

I cut a slice and notice it’s full of Granny Smith apple pieces and cinnamon juices.  A bite fills my senses.  Crunchy sugary sweet top crust, apple and cinnamon from the filling, and crunchy butter flavor from the bottom crust.  So many delicious flavors perfectly balanced.  Best apple pie I’ve found in San Diego.

I visited during Taste of Ramona and tried the samples.
Vanilla cream puff had puffy pastry with a sweet vanilla cream center.
Pumpkin pie had sweet pumpkin flavor.
Pumpkin donut muffin was amazing.  Loved the layers of sugary goodness.  Sugar sprinkles on top were pure sweetness.  Donut muffin part had delicious sweet pumpkin flavor.
Bacon peanut butter and jelly brownie was the sweetest sample.  Rich chocolate flavor with a strong peanut butter flavor and a hint of jelly contrasted by the savory bacon.
There are many delicious treats in London Bakery.  One of these days I will resist special ordering the apple crumb pie and try something else.
Entrance to the kitchen.

The kind owner Jo took me on a tour of the kitchen.

I like to take photos of beautiful things like rain falling into puddles. Photos were mostly taken on a Fuji XE-2. Starting 9.9.2016 most photos are taken on a Fuji XT-2. Subsequent photos were taken with an Iphone 13 Pro and an Iphone 15 Pro Max.

  1. Everything looks so tempting! I’m partial to anything with pumpkin, peanut butter, chocolate, lemon or vanilla cream. :>) We will have to go again.

  2. BEST pie in SD!! Them fightin’ words Soo 🙂 I’m not a big pie person but adore pie crusts when they’re buttery and flakey. That’s awesome you got to sample some desserts AND see the kitchen.

    1. We can have a pie face off if you have a favorite pie Faye! Next year I’m gonna go to Julian and try the pies up there. 🙂
