Comic Con International San Diego – part 2
My heart was racing as my trembling hands operated the controls. Metal claw was shaking wildly as it moved above the Ugly Dolls.

Comic-Con International San Diego – part 1
When I was a kid I saved up money from mowing lawns and other odd jobs to go to Comic Con. My first was at the El Cortez Hotel. I was a huge room filled a bunch of guys with boxes of bagged comics. Much has changed since my first con. The Golden Age was when Neil Gaimen held a midnight book reading. Those days you could show up for your favorite panels an hour early and still get a good seat. There was a booth where you could pay a discounted price for badges for the next year.

Saigon 5
Saigon 5 is located in the mini food court inside Ranch 99. I shop at Ranch 99 often but I rarely eat in the food court. I was curious as to how the food was as it’s generally quiet throughout the store.

An’s Dry Cleaning – Yelp event
Cold, sweet, intense flavors unlike any other to give me a short respite from the summer heat. I was hoping luck was with me as I clicked RSVP for the Yelp event at An’s Dry Cleaning where you can’t get your clothes clean but you can find heavenly gelato. I purchased a pint of Melton over a month ago and it did not last long in these hot summer days.

Luna Grill – Mira Mesa
Once again this is a collaborative post including both writers. This first portion is written by myself, Maggie. One of the many things I adore about Luna Grill is the fresh made variety of dipping options. It’s part of the fun to dip each bite of my chicken, pita or vegetable into a different sauce.

Jersey Mike’s – Pacific Beach
Scent of seared beef was strong. I could see pieces of beef reflecting the sun. Lettuce and tomato could not hide the juicy beef. I ordered a Philly cheese steak with just the steak, bacon, lettuce, and tomato. White bread was fresh, fluffy, and had a nice flavor. Steak was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Bacon was crunchy and full of savory flavor. I was amazed at how much steak was stuffed into my sandwich. Awesome sandwich!

Golden City Restaurant
Golden City is one of the places we like to go to celebrate things like birthdays. The menu has a lot of delicious options. The family tried to make me feel guilty when the waitress brought out the live lobster for approval before cooking. It was my birthday celebration though and I wanted some lobster with ginger sauce. I had been dreaming about the delicious lobster for months. I love the way they cook the lobster. The chef really brings out the unique flavor of fresh lobster with the accompanying flavor of ginger. So good. 🙂 The only other preparation close to this good is deep fried Puerto Nuevo…
