Day of the Dead is a celebration and remembrance of friends and family members who have died. It’s celebrated October 31 till November 2. Ever since I went to my first Day of the Dead celebration at the San Diego Natural History museum I have been celebrating yearly. It was there I first tasted delicious Pan de Muerto.

Koloa Mill Ice Cream & Coffee
One of the things I love about vacationing in Hawaii is eating Roselani ice cream. They have been around since 1932 and Hawaii is the only place you will find Roselani ice cream.

Uncle’s Shaved Ice – Lihue
We almost did it. We came close to eating at a different shaved ice spot everyday for a week. There are so many delicious shaved ice shops to try. This day we shopping at K-Mart and needed a snack. Uncle’s Shave Ice was close so we gave it a try. Looks like the mall is brand new and not all the stores were occupied.

The Green Pig – Kauai
Hawaii is my fav spot to eat at food trucks. The views are spectacular as you can see for miles through the pollution free air. Locations tend to be rural and there are natural sights to enjoy while eating. Also there tend to be chickens waiting to eat the food you don’t want to. I was excited seeing the cute Green Pig food truck. I noticed chickens and cats make their home here. They come by looking for handouts when your order arrives. Kauai Museum
My mom use to tell me stories of when she lived in a small village in China. They grew some of their own food and on occasion one of the chickens running around wound up being dinner.
