Years have gone by but my memories of the flavors of fresh sweet bread and savory bbq pork that make up Lai Hong Lounge’s char siu bao remain unchanged. My vacation time is about to expire so a road trip to San Francisco is planned. I manage to slip a visit to Lai Hong Lounge […]

Mid-Autumn Festival 2018

My mom started me on celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival. I remember the first time we went and bought Eastern Bakery moon cakes at Woo Chee Chong. I loved the pastry part and the lotus seed filling. Woo Chee Chong isn’t around any more and neither is my mom.

Inchin’s Bamboo Garden

I visited a few times in the old days when Mandarin Garden was here. I didn’t like the flavors of the food and stopped visiting. Inchin’s Bamboo Garden looks nothing like Mandarin Garden. They did a lovely remodel.
Del Mar Rendezvous

So many years I’ve eaten here. So many delicious dishes. These are the most recent. BBQ Pork ribs were tender with a flavor a bit like char sui. I liked the hint of sweetness with 5 spice powder flavor.
