I was excited to see a new fish and chip place had opened.

Felix’s BBQ with Soul – Oceanside
It’s raining again. I seem to visit when it rains. This time I’m here to try the Sunday brunch.
The Shack @ Valley Farm Market
Located in the parking lot of Valley Farm Market is The Shack which serves breakfast, lunch, and a variety of drinks. I was here for the bbq.
Abbey’s Real Texas BBQ
We visited Abbey’s Real Texas BBQ for our team lunch. Place was very busy and there was a long wait for food unless you ordered a burger.
Papalo Bbq
I was sad when Chef Bent’s bbq closed. Now he has his own place in La Mesa. Parking is metered so you may get lucky or not.
Aptos ST. BBQ
I remember Aptos. I stayed in a tree house. There were lovely redwoods all around. Loved the scent of the forest. A bbq joint was in town.
Jocko’s Steakhouse
I could smell the burning red oak from outside Jocko’s. There was a line to get in at dinner time.
The Swiss
You can smell it from the parking lot. The sweet scent of Santa Maria bbq. I arrived at 5pm and there was a big dinner crowd waiting to get in. Looks like reservations are in order for the next dinner here. Server was friendly and kept my soda water refilled.
