Rose Parade Post Parade: A Showcase of Floats, Tournament of Roses, Chapter Two out of Six
Western Asset Management, Oceans of Possibility. Presidents Trophy winner.
Just can’t help having this gem of a tune stuck in my head as I view all of these floats. Like somebody turned on Julie Andrews voice in my head. Now if only I could channel SiriusXM wherever I go.
Western Asset Management, Oceans of Possibility. Some materials used include; fresh lotus pod, sponge mushroom, reindeer moss and white talinberries.
Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens Brown paper packages tied up with strings These are a few of my favorite things
Cream-colored ponies and crisp apple strudels Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings These are a few of my favorite things

Princess Trophy winner for most outstanding floral presentation. The braided hat made of buck buck leaves.Rotary Planting the Seeds of Service. A real sapling from one of Hiroshima’s A-Bomb survivor trees was on the float and later planted in one of Rotary’s Peace Gardens to help promote peace and green legacy.

La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses. Panda-Monium celebrates the collaboration of all nations to end the endangered status of the Giant Panda. Bob Hope humor Trophy winner.La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses. Panda-Monium depicts the forest excursion of three panda cubs who have befriended a monkey, turtle, butterfly and a pit viper none too pleased to find himself being used as a makeshift rope.La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses.

Panda-Monium depicts the forest excursion of three panda cubs who have befriended a monkey, turtle, butterfly and a pit viper none too pleased to find himself being used as a makeshift rope.Panda-Monium celebrates the collaboration of all nations to end the endangered status of the Giant Panda. This float won the Bob Hope Humor Trophy for most whimsical and amusing float. White mums and fat choi were used on the Panda’s.

2015
A couple since 2003 and now on the precipice of this new journey, our fondest hope is this website serves a purpose. One of useful information presented in an elegant, beautiful photographic setting.
Together we love to discover new restaurants, food trucks, diners, café’s, huts or where ever we find food being served. The love of artful, carefully crafted, passionately orchestrated food, beverages and let’s not forget desert, Is something we both enjoy immensely. Immersing ourselves in the history, culture and surrounding locations of our adventures hopefully leads to not only meeting new people, but making new friends, sharing ideas, listening to stories and learning something new everyday.

I’m so glad I saw these, this is wonderful! The texture on the dolphin looks like van Gogh brush strokes! The purple giant clam and also the giant carrots were comical and those flowers made of smaller groupings of flowers were gorgeous 🙂 I love these, have always viewed the broadcast. This made me smile. hope your day is awesome.

Thanks for the additional information about the floats…all within the parade theme of ‘Making a Difference’. You got some great detail photos…so many materials are used and they all must be formerly living (no minerals/the ‘sand’ is a combination of spices, rocks are a blend of rices…but oh look at the plaid on that bunny jacket- blueberries and cranberries and flowers!). I added a photo of the 2019 parade theme design (‘The Melody of Life’) to my post…announced in January by the new President. Float designs will be submitted, approved then building begins and first road tests will be in May and June.
I find myself wanting to stay longer to admire more details on each float. It’s hard to leave once I get focused in. It’s fascinating learning about each particular material used and which area of the float it’s showcased. Looking forward to your posts later this year Cathy detailing The Melody of Life floats for 2019.
